Scientists attempted to find a cure for addiction. They failed.
Dr. Everett Berning, a leading researcher into the causes of addiction in the brain, spent ten years of his life dedicated to one thing: finding the cure. Recruited after a strange encounter with the enigmatic Dr. Roberta Flint, Director of Research on Code Name: Rememdium, Dr. Berning is sent to work in a secret lab as part of the research team.
When the moment the scientists waited on for years arrives, Dr. Flint and her team are ecstatic.
Unfortunately, not everyone in the world feels the same way.
Benito San Nicholas isn't ready to give up his lucrative business. When the news of a cure arrives on his doorstep from a crooked informant, Benito enlists the help of other drug lords from around the world to stop the cure from hitting the streets and destroying their livelihoods.
What happens next ends up uniting the globe--just not the way society ever intended or hoped.

TAINTED FUTURE, BOOK THREE
COMING IN 2016
DR. EVERETT BERNING achieved his life’s work: he discovered a cure for drug addiction. Unfortunately, the formula was stolen and fell into the hands of the enemy.
DRUG LORDS from around the world unknowingly released the altered, deadly formula into their supply, affecting millions across the globe.
WITHIN FORTY-EIGHT HOURS, the entire planet is thrown into chaos as the disease spreads.
REGINA PARKER, Chief of Police of the tiny town of Rockport, Arkansas, isn’t willing to let the military kill thousands of innocent people in a rush to contain the outbreak. She leads a small contingent of survivors on a dangerous quest to keep her town safe from not only the soldiers, but the dead.
WILL DR. BERNING be able to isolate the contagion and find a way to reverse it, or is it too late to save humanity from the tainted cure? How far will Chief Parker go to save the lives of others as the world collapses around them?
2016 is the year I delve into genre's I haven't written in before. The Rememdium Series falls into the Sci-Fi, Post-Apocalyptic area of fiction, and since I'm trying new things this year, I'm also working on my first romantic suspense novella, Suicide Lake. Look for it this summer!
Addiction isn’t just about the voluminous issues
experienced by the addict. Like ripples in a pond, addictionaffectseverything—and everyone—around the addict. Nothing remains untouched as
the disease, like a virulent plague, destroysrelationships, friendships, employment, childhood,
parenthood and marriages. Don’t believe me? Take a few minutes to read this
staggering piece from CNN. According to the article (source figures provided by the
CDC from number of deaths from drug poisoning vs. other causes, 1999-2014)
“Drugs now kill more people than cars, guns.
Drugs are the leading
cause of accidental death in this country. Fatal overdoses surpassed shooting
deaths and fatal traffic accidents years ago. For perspective on how fast drug
deaths have risen, Anderson said, consider the sharp rise in heart disease in
the early half of the 20th century. It took about 50 years for the rate of
heart disease to double. It took drug deaths a fraction of that time.” Scared yet? You should be, because…
It has been way too long since I hosted the talented Audra Tropser on my blog, so when I heard she had a new release, I was excited and begged her to drop by for a visit to discuss Unveiled. Let me share my review of this book, followed by the interview:
A.D. Tropser is known for creating detailed, fascinating worlds,
ranging from ones where dragons fly to peeking behind the veils of time and
space. I have read all of her books and enjoyed them all for her attention to
detail, vivid descriptions and memorable characters. Unveiled is yet another winner. Audra’s creative mind went
into overdrive as she weaves the story of Jo and her sister as they journey
down a new path—one that neither young woman had a clue existed. Jo was my favorite character because she is the perfect
embodiment of strength and vulnerability. When her entire existence is flipped
on its axis, the way she handles the unbelievable is tinged with biting humor
and lots of snarky comebacks. When the “unveiling” happens, …
My first foray into designing a book cover and formatting the interior started with Empty Shell. The decision to jump from the cliff and tackle the challenge on my own came about from a financial standpoint. Circumstances out of my control (i.e., the money tree in my backyard withered and died a horrible death) forced me to change my path. Plus, Indie authors must watch every single penny as we attempt to compete with all the millions of other works available to readers. Each cent saved in one area adds to the bank of another, such as editing, advertising, paperback purchases for book signings, etc. Also, keeping our costs low allows us to offer better prices for our works to our readers. Empty Shell came out just fine and I was quite pleased with the results. The formatting was correct for both print and ebook, and I was happy with the cover I created using Photoshop. I started out with a Microsoft Word document and made sure all the parameters were formatted correctly and poof! I wa…
